This song has always been with me my adult life. We are conditioned by commercials, news, our leaders, and church. Even our parent's, for those from a dysfunctional family. They take that word "Woke" and mangle it. Woke is being aware of the conditioning, and breaking it. It's fine to have influences, but at the end of the day you got to make a decision for yourself. Because we could be in danger of people deciding for you.

To my understanding, "daddy" is everyone who try to have a say in her life, fans including. We are all daddy. And she's just right. Her life isn't our business. We should just all be happy for her when she is. It's not our place to judge someone we don't even know, after all. That song is my favorite on the album. Reminded me of "Love Story" on her Fearless album.

Tbh the day this thing came out, I was just listening and looking at the track list as I went, and this song worried me cus of the title, I was afraid it was gonna be a sad song and it was like she is begging, and I am so glad I was wrong. I just ran across this reaction of yours. Cyndi had a big association with relatives and pro wrestling back then in her videos. Her real life mother and brother appear in the video. Her then boyfriend Dave Wolfe is the man sleeping all of the time in the bed. He was also portrayed as being involved with pro wrestling bavk then. The cook at the dinner is Capt.Lou Albano a msnager of wrestlers at the time.

It's only my opinion but i don't see where you did anything wrong. I knew the artists because i grew up at that time. I remember when this was done. MTV made a big thing about they were goibg to premiere the video at a specific date and time which yes we all waited for. Times were different back then. We watched it on our "small" tubed TVs. We could not call our friends on our cell phones as many of us did not have them back then, and it was the biggest thing if you really got to see it. The greatest thing for me is seeing once again. The saddest being that about 10 of these stars have passed since then. I am greatful for having been able to see it back then.
